The World RC Soaring Festival
🌎What is it?
The World R/C Soaring Festival is a premier gathering for radio-controlled glider enthusiasts. Held at the picturesque SkyPark at Santa’s Village (California), located at an elevation of around 6,000 ft (1,800 m), it offers an alpine-like setting ideal for thermal and slope soaring.

Date: June 27–29, 2025
Location: SkyPark R/C Glider Port, at the RV Resort of SkyPark at Santa’s Village, Skyforest, California – about a 2.5–3 hour drive from Los Angeles / USA.

Three full days of soaring fun with a maximum of 100 pilots, creating a personal, community-friendly atmosphere..
🌤️ Terrain & Thermals
SkyPark’s location at 6,000 ft offers excellent alpine-style thermals and slope lift—ideal for long-duration gliding and breathtaking soaring sessions. Pilots can expect conditions similar to those found in the European Alps!

Robbe Modellsport at the World RC Soaring Festival 2025
In June 2025, Robbe product manager Stephan Plewinsky spent several days in the United States to take part in the renowned World RC Soaring Festival at Skypark, California.
Founded by Karlton Spindle, the event is one of the most important international gatherings in the RC soaring scene, once again attracting many passionate pilots and industry visitors from the USA, Canada, and beyond.
The highlight of Robbe’s presence was the U.S. premiere of the new Robbe Skypark PRO – a high-performance glider that is technically identical to the already highly successful Avalanche in Europe.
Stephan Plewinsky took the opportunity to present the Skypark PRO in several flight demonstrations under real-world conditions and to gather direct feedback from the attending pilots.
Weltmeister Daryl Perkins tested the brand new Robbe Skypark PRO
A special highlight was the flight of the model by Daryl Perkins, multiple world champion and one of the most respected figures in the global RC soaring community.
After the flight, Perkins had high praise for the performance and handling of the Skypark PRO:
“A well-balanced, modern model – precise in the air and beautifully built. Robbe is sure to win many fans in the U.S. with this one.”
The Robbe Skypark PRO is a full GfK/CfK all-round electric sailplane with extremely high strength thanks to the high CfK content in the construction. It loves speed and tight manoeuvres, but can also be flown tame and slow. The Skypark Pro is a modern thermal and slope glider with a wingspan of approx. 2.80 meters.

With the successful presentation of the Skypark PRO at the World RC Soaring Festival 2025, Robbe marks an important step toward international expansion.

Our trip to the World RC Soaring Festival in California was special in many ways. Sure, it was also about business and our shared passion for model flying – but what really stuck with us were the many great people we met along the way.
Between geeking out over planes, talking shop, and just having a good time, we made some new friends who now mean more to us than just fellow hobbyists. And for that, we’re truly grateful – no matter what the business side of things looks like.
Moments like these remind us what it’s really all about: community, passion, and enjoying something awesome together..
