Features:
The “TONGA” model from the Robbe Retro-Line makes the leap into the modern era. The external contours have largely been taken exactly from the 1970s model. Inside and in terms of aerodynamics, a lot has changed; this is where the leap into the present day has been made. The new airfoil profile with the AG35 Strak suits the model well. It gives the Tonga very good gliding characteristics, responds very well to thermals and, once centred, climbs vertically upwards.
The model can be built as either a pure glider version or an electric version. For the electric version, we recommend a 3S power system with a Robbe 2837 motor, which enables the ‘Tonga’ to get into the thermals quickly. With a low flying weight of just over 1 kg, finding a thermal is a breeze, even in very light conditions.
Controlled using only the rudder and elevator, it feels like ‘back to basics’ and is incredibly relaxing. Enjoyable flying, pure relaxation, focusing on the essentials… all this is possible with the ‘new’ old Tonga from Robbe.
The kit is produced using modern CNC manufacturing, enabling quick and precise assembly.
- easy-to-handle flight characteristics
- suitable for beginners (both in building and flying)
- light-wind glider for high-launch and electric motor
- solid wood construction
- decelerating
- max. 30 hours to complete the model
