Especially with glider retract landing gear doors, it is often necessary that the gear doors do not obstruct the retraction or extension process. Thanks to this offset hinge, the doors swing out sideways, allowing unobstructed movement of the retractable landing gear. This also means that the required bay size is smaller than with conventional hinge solutions.
Installation is extremely simple. The plastic outer tube is glued into the fuselage and guides the steel wire, which serves as the bearing for the special hinges. The hinges themselves are glued onto the landing gear doors.
